Summer Reading Program 2024
Our theme this summer is Read, Renew, Repeat!
Read, earn prizes, explore, and learn through fun and engaging events!
Programs are FREE and open to all children and families, but prizes are only available for those entering preschool - 6th grade in the Iowa Falls-Alden School District or other children in the 50126 zip code.
Storytime is geared towards ages Kindergarten and under and Kids Lego Club is for ages 17 and under.
As always, library programs are FREE!
Every child that attends Iowa Falls Schools, pre-school through 5th grade, will get a packet sent home with them from the school!

Reading Calendars
Keep track of how many minutes you read (no matter how many) during June and July!
Anytime you read, listen to an audiobook, or someone reads to you write down your minutes on the calendar. At the end of July return your sheet and you can pick a book from our librarian’s selections that the library will purchase. It will be yours to keep! Calendars must be returned to the library by August 1st. |
BINGO Cards
This card encourages kids to read, use library resources and get outside!
Once you get a BINGO, bring your card in and you will receive $5 in Chamber Bucks that you can spend (almost) anywhere in Iowa Falls. Limit of 1 bingo per child. BINGO Cards must be returned to the library by August 1st.

3D Prints
If you return both the BINGO Card and your Reading Logs you will get to choose a 3D image (from the options below) to print and it will be yours to keep!

Additional Information
Adventure Pass Information-The Barlow Library is participating in a program that allows library patrons to check out a pass for 2 adults and 2 children to the Blank Park Zoo, Reiman Gardens, Grout Museum, and the Science Center of Iowa. Click on the link above to reserve your tickets.
Graphix Club-Join us to talk all things Graphic Novels! Ages 8-12 welcome. Stop in to the library anytime in June to get the book, Dog Man by Dav Pilkey, for the first meeting on June 28th.
Kids Lego Club-Join us for Lego free build Wednesday afternoons from 3:30-4:30PM. Available for ages 17 and under only. Free and no registration required!
Story Time-Every Tuesday morning at 10:30AM, with a few exceptions! Join us for stories, music, and more. Designed for ages kindergarten and under. Please note that not all Story Times are held at the library. See the calendar above for more information!
*June 4th Story Time will be held at Estes Park.
*June 11th there will not be Story Time, but join us for a Reptile Program in Estes Park.
*June 13th is a special Story Time that will be a Swim Story Time held at the Meyer Aquatic Center.
*June 22nd is a special Story Time that will be held at Calkins Nature Area.
