Summer Library Program 2026
Our theme this summer is A Summer of Together!
Come TOGETHER for events, crafts, books and more!
As always, programs are FREE and open to all children and families. Prizes can be earned by kids from birth - entering 6th grade in the Iowa Falls-Alden School District or in the 50126 zip code.
Every child that attends Iowa Falls Schools, pre-school through 5th grade, will get a packet sent home with them from the school!

Reading Log
Write down how many minutes you read (or are read to) each day in the trail of spaces! Only one space can be filled each day. Once you reach the FINISH space, add all of you minutes together and write the total number in the FINISH box.
Return your Reading Log to the library by August 1st to claim your prize- a NEW book for your home library! The earliest you may return your Reading Log is July 1st. No matter how far you get, you can turn in your Reading Log for a prize. Calendars must be returned to the library by August 1st. |
BINGO Card
Complete activities on the sheet; when you get a BINGO (across, down or diagonal), return your sheet to the library to receive a $5 Chamber Bucks Certificate!
Limit of 1 bingo per child. BINGO Cards must be returned to the library by August 1st.

If you submit both your BINGO Card and Reading Log, you will have the opportunity to select a 3D printed item from our collection to take home and keep.

Additional Information
- Adventure Pass Information-The Barlow Library is participating in a program that allows library patrons to check out a pass for 2 adults and 2 children to the Blank Park Zoo, Reiman Gardens, Grout Museum, and the Science Center of Iowa. Click on the link above to reserve your tickets.
- Graphix & Book Club-Join us to discuss 2 different titles! Ages 8-12 welcome. Stop in to the library anytime in June to get the book, Allergic by Megan Warner Lloyd, for the first meeting on June 26th and the July book, Frindle by Andrew Clements on July 24th.
- Kids Lego Club-Join us for Lego free build Tuesday afternoons from 3:30-4:30PM. Available for ages 17 and under only. Free and no registration required! **NO LEGO CLUB: June 2nd & July 7th
- Story Time-Every Tuesday morning at 10:30AM, with a few exceptions! Join us for stories, music, and more. Designed for ages kindergarten and under. Please note that not all Story Times are held at the library. See the calendar above for more information!

- Play Cafe- June 5th and 19th & July 17th @10:30am! Meet new friends and enjoy old ones at the Library! Get creative, be active, explore and have fun! For ages 5 and under plus their caregiver. Free hot beverages for adults!
